Overflow Pool – Price and Benefits

A polypropylene pool is synonymous with luxury, combining modernity with unmatched comfort of use. Such pools are available in two variants: skimmer pools and overflow pools. Prices start at around 50,000 PLN, making it feasible for many investors to afford such an expenditure today, creating a private haven of peace and respite in their own garden.

Why Choose a Polypropylene Overflow Pool?

Owning a private pool was once considered a privilege for the few, but now it’s a luxury within reach even for the less affluent. In an era where comfort and aesthetics go hand in hand with affordable prices, polypropylene overflow and skimmer pools are particularly valued for their durability, elegant design, and the ability to customize to individual tastes. The favorable ratio between quality and price is also significant.

Polypropylene is a durable material, resistant to weather conditions and wear, which ensures the longevity of the structure and ease of maintenance. Furthermore, since these basins are constructed on-site by welding prefabricated polypropylene sheets, it is possible to build a pool of almost any shape and size.

The jewel in the crown among polypropylene basins are the overflow pools. The price of this type of solution will be about 10% higher than that of a skimmer pool, but it is well worth paying. Why? Let us explain!

Overflow Pool – Price and Cost Influencing Factors

The water purification technology in skimmer pools is relatively simple: special drain openings (skimmers) located at the top of the basin suck in water and contaminants, which are then filtered. The water, after being cleaned, returns to the pool.

More complex are the water purification systems in overflow pools – hence their higher price. In such basins, water spilled over the pool edge goes into an overflow gutter, then to an overflow tank. Subsequently, the system’s pump draws the water and sends it to the filter, where it undergoes the cleaning process. Finally, the water returns to the pool through the inflow nozzles.

Thanks to such advanced technology, the water in the pool is always crystal clear, but the higher cost of components means that an overflow pool is about 10% more expensive than skimmer models, which filter water by suction through skimmers placed on the pool edge.

It is important to note that in overflow pools, the water surface aligns exactly with the garden line – unlike in skimmer basins, where the water level is lowered relative to this line. Therefore, especially when the garden offers an attractive view – whether of forests, mountains, lakes, or other beautiful landscapes – the higher price of overflow pools is worth paying because nothing obstructs the view, and the water appears as a taut sheet.

Lighting, Heating, Enclosures: What Increases the Price of an Overflow Pool?

The price of an overflow pool will also depend on its size – the more material used to build the structure, the higher the cost. Similarly, the issue of equipping the basin applies. LED lighting, counter-current systems, enclosures, water heating – all these elements will increase the investment cost, but it is worth remembering that installing additional accessories during the pool construction will always pay off more than potentially equipping it during operation. Additionally, extra features, such as enclosures, allow the water to stay cleaner longer (thus paying less for the water itself, which will be changed less frequently). Also, the purification technology in overflow pools is more advanced but also more efficient, which also affects operating expenses.

There are many factors that contribute to the higher price of an overflow pool, but over the longer term, such a pool will allow for greater savings. Overflow systems are more efficient in terms of filtration and water circulation, which translates to lower maintenance costs. Additionally, the stability and durability of polypropylene pools reduce the need for frequent repairs or component replacements, further increasing the value of the investment.
